Listen to Danny Seth’s New Album, ‘Perception’

Danny Seth, a promising young rapper from the UK, is set to make some big moves now that he’s focused his efforts on creating a niche fan base state side, and he’s begun that trek with his new album, Perception. The album, which plays through as one continuous stream of consciousness–it should be noted that his unique tracklist reflects that; it’s really one long sentence–features his wicked banger of a record, “I Arise Because,” which has garnered over 300,000 views on YouTube, and can be seen above.

We’ll be talking to Seth soon about everything from his come up, to his thoughts on UK music culture, from its pop stars to grime, in the near future, but for now, make sure you listen to Perception below.

Viola Makes History At Emmy Awards, Gives Enthralling Speech

Viola Davis just went back to back.

Last night, at the 67th Emmy Awards, Viola Davis won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, making her the first Black woman ever to take home the award. She was acknowledged for her role as Annalise Keating, the no-nonsense lawyer and professor with a huge secret in Shonda Rhimes‘ hit fall series How To Get Away With Murder.

After accepting the award and getting a huge hug from Taraji P. Henson, Viola took the stage and delivered yet another jarring speech–similar to the one she gave after winning the same award at Screen Actors Guild in January–this time quoting Harriet Tubman, and thanking several notable Black actresses and producers by name. Mac Miller Breaks Down “100 Grandkids” With Genius

It’s been two years since Mac Miller‘s last studio album, but his latest project GO:OD AM proves he hasn’t missed a beat. The album’s lead single “100 Grandkids” is a wellspring of witty metaphors and introspective lyrics, some of which Mac broke down in a new interview with Genius. With lines like “What’s a God without a little O.D.?” and “You put the ‘ho’ in honest baby” his commentary is as rewarding as the the lines themselves. Enjoy the video above and check out the lyrics with annotations from Mac Miller himself below.

Watch Future’s New Video, “The Percocet & Stripper Joint”

Future‘s still rolling.

His third LP, DS2, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 this summer–his first chart-topper–and with murmurs of a joint mixtape with Drake, a follow-up to his January mixtape Beast Mode, and the oft-teased Ape Sh*t, a project expected to be produced entirely by his longtime collaborator and friend Mike Will Made It, it doesn’t appear as if that roll will slow up anytime soon.

While we grasp for more indicators that Hendrix and the 6 God are hooking up for an internet-breaking release, Future’s going to continue dropping videos, the latest being his alternate-tempo ode to–what else–drugs and strippers, the bluntly put “The Percocet & Stripper Joint,” arguably one of DS2‘s better cuts. Watch it above.

Dr. Jan Adams Says He’s Not Responsible For Donda West’s Death, But Knows Who Is

Dr. Jan Adams has been accused of the death of Kanye West’s mother in 2007. He operated on her to provide her with a tummy tuck, breast reduction and liposuction, but says that her death isn’t a result of complications of the surgery. He said she died from cardiopulmonary failure and the amount of medication which led her to choke on her own vomit.

He told Inside Edition that he was the scapegoat in her death. He read a letter that said “her caregivers gave her, whoa, 20 Vicodin tabs in less than 20 hours.” Sheesh

He also said in the exclusive interview, that the family didn’t follow his instructions on leaving her in the medical facility for recovering and insisted that his cousin Stephan Scoggins, who’s a registered nurse, tended to her and he’s responsible for her death.

Her nurse wasn’t there. Her nurse was gone to a baby shower, rather than taking care of his aunt. This lady shouldn’t be dead. All you had to do is sit her up and every nurse on the planet knows that.

Dr. Adams also added that she made it through the surgery successful enough to make it home.

Check out the interview in its entirety below:

Presha J Announces ‘Traveller’s Guide’ EP & Debuts ‘Live For You’ Visual

It’s been two long years since British Hip Hop artist Presha J released his last single ‘Throw It In The Air’, and nearly a decade since his debut EP, Changes, was released in 2008. After taking time away from music for life and to start a family, the London native is proud to be back, with the announcement of his sophomore EP, Traveller’s Guide, which is to be released on October 23 via Writeway Music.

Leading Presha J’s triumphant, no holds barred, return to the music landscape is new single ‘Live For You’ featuring emerging singer-songwriter Leke, and produced by Smylee (Victizzle, Faith Child). Accompanied by thematic and abstract visuals directed by Dvisionaiir, ‘Live For You’ is an upbeat, inspiration and life-affirming opus, backed by thumping drums, an infectious bassline and heavy synths, over which Presha J waxes lyrical about standing firm in his faith.

Speaking about his departure from music, Presha J confesses, “I never meant for there to be such a gap in between my work. I was still creating music while I was planning to get married but I felt that God had other plans and I quickly learned that something had to give”, adding about his new EP that, “I’ve grown up a lot since ‘Changes’, which was more about my testimony. I wanted this new project to take my listeners on a trip from a more mature viewpoint”.

With support from Channel AKA, Capital Xtra, Bang Radio, Kiss TV and Smash Hits TV, early in his career, plus rave reviews and critical acclaim for his Changes EP, Presha J had been hailed as one of the finest and most promising Hip Hop artists in the UK. This comeback record Traveller’s Guide is poised to solidify that early promise and acclaim from years ago, starting with the exciting new offering ‘Live For You’.

Joe Budden Talks “SlaughterMouse” With Genius; Speaks Candidly About Relationship With Eminem

Say what you will about Joe Budden; he’s probably heard it all. A veteran whose career spans a dozen years, and which has straddled both mainstream success and underground dominance — namely as member of the hyper-lyrical supergroup Slaughterhouse — Budden’s story is quite a tale. Though his tumultuous love life has taken the spotlight in recent years, the Jersey vet instead spoke candidly with Genius‘ new manager of artist relations, Rob Markman, about Shady Records /Interscope label head, Eminem.

During their nearly 10 minutes talk, Budden and Markman scrutinize “Slaughtermouse”, a track off of Joe’s upcoming third studio album, All Love Lost. The track has already been labeled as a “diss track” to some and to others an open letter, while Joe, himself, refer’s to it as his version of Em’s foreboding Marshall Mathers LP hit, “Stan”. The discourse spans several topics, including: Joe and Em sharing a similar path such as addiction to drugs and lover’s quarrels with their respective significant others, Joe surmising that Em’s superstardom would mean success for himself and Slaughterhouse, and Joe weighing in on how impactful “My Name Is” would be if it were released in 2015.

Check out the video for yourself above, as well as the lyrics to “Slaughtermouse” with verified annotations by Joe below. Also be sure to see Joe Budden and Rob Markman live, as panelists during SOURCE360, which kicks off today and goes on through Sunday — get information and tickets here.

T.I. Ends Business Relationship With Iggy Azalea

Fresh from releasing a surprise EP Da’Nic last week, the King of the South T.I. paid a visit to Hot 97‘s Ebro In The Morning to discuss his whereabouts in the past few months as well as his plans for the rest of the year. During the conversation, Tip spoke on the success of his reality show The Family Hustle as well as his forthcoming album Dime Trap, slated for release later this year. Staying on the creative front, he also discussed the possible sequel to the film ATL and the red tape he encountered when attempting to bring the film to fruition.

Outside of music and film, T.I. managed to dodge several questions regarding the Meek MillDrake feud, which resulted in the Philadelphia rapper spilling the beans on a T.I. associated who allegedly urinated on Drizzy in the middle of a movie theater. As well as he played keep away on that question, the Atlanta native was very candid about the end of his business relationship with Australian star Iggy Azalea. He explains that he attempted to shield her from the backlash she encountered in the past year, but he waved the white flag after her skirmish with Hip-Hop legend Q-Tip on Twitter.

After the Q-Tip thing… After I kind of had smoothed it over, like okay, ‘What is really meant to be said here is…’ After it was cool, everything was cool, and then they kind of came back and undid what I had just [accomplished],” he said. “I’ma be all the way real, I’m a loyal partner. If I rock with you I’m gon’ rock with you…I really do feel that they [Iggy’s team] just needed a little more time to adjust, which I feel they [Iggy’s team] can do. They have the talent, they have the charisma.
