Actress Sanaa Lathan Releases Brand New Track “Emotional” Featuring Def Loaf

Actress Sanaa Lathan, known for her roles in films such as “Love & Basketball” and “Brown Sugar” has been riding high this past week with the release of her new film “The Perfect Guy,” which co-stars Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnutt. The is expected to top the box office in it’s opening weekend, making the the past few weeks dominated by Black led films, counting the N.W.A. biopic “Straight Outta Compton.

With that said, Lathan looks to expose more of her talents with the release of a brand new tune titled “Emotional,” featuring Detroit based newcomer Dej Loaf. Though many may not know of the stars musical acumen, the track actually came about via a conversation with super producer Detail. After watching a screening of the film, Detail had a conversation with Lathan about how emotional her love interest in the film was. This led to Detail inviting Sanaa to the studio to cut a tune based on that premise, and here we have it. Check it out below.

Check Out the Trailer For ‘The Perfect Guy’ Starring Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy, and Morris Chestnut

There’s nothing like a good old black film starring our favorite black actors.

Remember last year’s twisted, love drama No Good Deed starring Taraji P. Henson and Idris Elba? Well this year we have The Perfect Guy starring Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy, and Morris Chestnut. Lathan plays Leah Vaughn, Ealy plays Carter Duncan, and Morris Chestnut plays Dave.

Leah and Dave are in a long term relationship. Leah is ready to take things to another level, and Dave is afraid of commitment. Meanwhile, Leah coincidentally crosses paths with Carter on numerous occasions and their relationship heats up really quickly. He seems like the perfect guy, but it seems too good to be true. In a matter of time, Leah knows that she has to end her relationship with Carter but he makes that a challenge.
