Former Clipper owner Donald Sterling is trying to get back the people that took him down. According to TMZ, Sterling is suing V. Stiviano and TMZ over the recording and publishing of a conversation he had with Stiviano.
Sterling filed the lawsuit Friday in L.A. … claiming Stiviano “surreptitiously” recorded their convo sometime between September 2013 and April 2014 — and then either she, or her agents, provided that recording to TMZ.
The audio that was released from Sterling caused him to receive a lifetime ban from the NBA. This is just another chapter in this saga, that appears to be never ending. Stiviano has already been ordered to pay back Shelly Sterling more than $2.6 million in gifts as part of a separate court case. Donald Sterling also filed for divorce from his wife last week.
Sterling has very little to gain from these lawsuits, but it seems as if ego wouldn’t let this situation end.

Everything in life is temporary. From houses, cloths, cars, everything in life can be replaced. Athletes seem to be a group of people who still can’t understand this concept. Not matter how good the player, there will always be someone to take that spot away from them. Along with contracts being signed and fights in dugouts, The Things We Learn in Sports this week deals with the idea that no is above being replaced.
7. Nick Foles and Rams agree to a new deal
Nick Foles and the Rams agreed to a two-year extension on Friday. Ian Rapoport is reporting that the deal with worth 24 million.
#Rams gave Nick Foles a 2-year extension worth more than $24M, source says. Final year can void with Pro Bowl appearance or team performance
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 8, 2015
Foles, 26, arrived in St. Louis this offseason via a trade from Philadelphia that sent Sam Bradford the other way. Foles spent his first three NFL seasons with the Eagles, experiencing largely up-and-down affairs that saw him look like a franchise quarterback one moment and borderline unplayable the next.
This basically gives Foles 2-years to prove that be can back to his 2013 form where he was a Pro-Bowl player.
6. Percy Harvin clears the air about the Seahawks situation.
Percy Harvin signed a 1-year deal with the Buffalo Bills this past offseason, and is trying to prove that he is still that elite player in this league. Harvin was a guest on ESPN’s First Take and address the situation that had the Super Bowl champion Seahawks trade him to the New York Jets. Harvin said that he had a problems with members of the receiving core. When he brought those problems to head coach Pete Carroll, Harvin says that he’s concerns weren’t heard. Watch as Harvin explains the situation in the video below.
5. Marshawn Lynch jokes about Super Bowl play on the “League”
Marshawn Lynch makes an appearance on the wildly popular show the “League”. Lynch plays himself, and makes fun of the situation that has been the biggest joke of the season. The episode, which will air September 9, features the running back hanging out on the beach as a business member of “Taco Corp.” along with a character named Taco MacArthur. Another dude, who’s Taco’s brother on the show, asks for a beer, and Lynch’s fellow bigwig insists on throwing it.“Just hand it to me,” Beast Mode begs. “No need to throw it, man. C’mon. … I could sleepwalk that thing to him, boy.” Then madness ensues. They should have just ran the ball.
4. It was all good just a week ago.
Seems like if you have a problem with a team or a player in the league, the place to go is on First Take. Brandon Marshall was traded from the Chicago Bears to the New York Jets in the offseason. Due to injuries, Marshall had a down season and , to his own admission, believe people are counting him out. The All-Pro receiver sat down at the debate desk where he explained the situation between him and Jay Cutler and his expecting for the season.
3. Tempers flare in Detroit
There’s rarely a time where baseball enters the The Things We Learn in Sports, unless it involves fights. The Detroit Tigers have traded away their second and third best players in David Price and Yoenis Cespedes, at the trade deadline, which indicated to their fans that they are in rebuilding mode. That means another 2 months of meaning less baseball. Usually the anger is directed at opponents, but Tigers teammates James McCann and Jose Iglesias went at each other in the dugout Friday night at Comerica Park. Watch the fight below.
2. A College football player is killed by police
Christian Taylor was shot and killed during a struggle after the unarmed 19-year-old crashed a car through the front window of a car dealership, authorities said per NBC.com. Taylor was a sophomore at Angelo State University in San Angelo. Officers were responding to a burglary call about 1 a.m. Friday in Arlington when they discovered someone had driven a vehicle through a front. Clearly some have voiced their outrage towards this situation.
Really??????!!!!!!!!!!? are we all sleeping and this is one gigantic bad nightmare? #ChristianTaylor how many hashtags now?

Can’t wear hoodies, can’t play with toy guns, can’t be outside day or night, can’t worship in church, can’t blast music… #ChristianTaylor

More information will soon come alone.
1. Aldon Smith released by 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers release linebacker Aldon Smith after he was arrested on accusations of, hit and run, DUI, and vandalism. This is the third time that the pro-bowl player has been arrested for and alcohol related incident. Smith was coming off a season where he was already suspended for 9 games because of off the field issues. Smith has a long road back if he wants to play football again.
One of the values of life is being grateful for what you have.
No matter how big or small always be thankful for whatever you receive in life. Some of people have missed that message. This week in sports we dive in to the idea of gratitude and the repercussions from it. Al l that and more in the Things We Learn in Sports this week.
7) Josh Smith makes a sacrifice
Josh Smith just signed a one year deal to play for a championship with the Los Angeles Clippers. The contract is worth about 1.5 million dollars, along with the money he will receive from the Pistons as well. That totals to just under 7 million dollars. But for Smith it will be a struggle. According to the Detroit Free Press, Smith was quoted in saying that “At the end of the day, you know, I do have a family,” he said. “So it is going to be a little harder on me this year. But I’m going to push through it, you know. … I made a decision for me and my family.” These are the moment where you know some of these athletes are just selfish. That’s more money than most Americans will see in a life time. This just screams Latrell Sprewell from miles away. For Josh Smith the struggle is real.
6) Footballs around the corner
With Training Camps opening up all cross the country this week, it seems like football is almost here. Teams will be looking to improve to get to another level this coming season. Nothing kicks off the season right like Direct TV commercials. Direct TV has made some amazing ads in the past getting fans ready for the start of the season, and this season is no different. Direct TV called upon quarterbacks Eli Manning and Tony Romo to help shoot a commercial. Check out the two pro bowl quarterbacks in their separate commercials.
5) Another Athlete Another Arrest.
Titans’ wide receiver Justin Hunter was arrested in Virginia on Monday for being involved in a fight outside a bar during 4th of July weekend. Cops say Hunter was involved in a brawl at the Sandbar Raw Bar in Virginia Beach on July 3rd, where a victim was transported to a hospital to treat the injuries. The 24-year-old is just the latest example of NFL players not being able to control themselves once the season is over.
4) The Haters gona Hate Hate Hate,
Boxer Cam Awesome (yes he changed his name to that) won the bronze medal at the Pan Am games this past week. Awesome step aside to do an interview where he declared himself the Taylor Swift of boxing. Watch as Awesome explains how he gets heartbroken in the ring.
3) Shady Aftermath
LeSean McCoy looks a bit paranoid. McCoy wanted to have one last party before the Bills open their doors for trading camp. Problem with that is the kind of details that were required to enter the party.
— OHB (@ohholybutt) July 23, 2015
Smooth moves Shady, real smooth.
2) What is up with the trick throws
— Tanner Harmon (@tspoon1515) July 18, 2015
Two guys drew up a play that involved one of them receiving a football after back-flipping off a swing into water. The timing on the play was impeccable. This could have gone bad in so many different ways. Thankfully it ended up just being a cool video.
1) Better watch your tongue.
Colin Cowherd and ESPN were set to part ways peacefully in a few weeks, but that went out the door this past week. Cowherd was fired by ESPN for his comments that he made on his radio show “The Herd” regarding Dominican players.
Colin Cowherd’s comments over the past two days do not reflect the values of ESPN or our employees. Colin will no longer appear on ESPN.
— Mike Soltys (@espnmikes) July 24, 2015
Cowherd then took to twitter to make an apology towards the network and those who were offended.
I did not intend to offend anyone w my comments. I realize my choice of words was poor and not reflective of who I am. I am sorry.
— Colin Cowherd (@ESPN_Colin) July 24, 2015
Cowherd is set to sign a deal with ESPN rival Fox Sports, and is expected to have a bigger role. This type of outrage might have a negative affect on Cowherd in his new home.

Lets be honest, it’s been a pretty dry week in sports. Football is a few months away, Lebron is expected to stay in Cleveland (we hope), and baseball……is baseball. Despite the dry spell in sports, moves and plays have been made to impact the seasons that are up coming. Off-season moves are like getting the ingredients for a soup. If you get the wrong items, you can end up with a Knicks’ broth. Here are the things we learned in sports this week.
7. Lakers and Knicks are left holding the bag
You know you had a terrible off-season when the two starting centers for each team are Robin Lopez and reportedly Roy Hibbert. The New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers now have to realize that players do not want to spend their time on a team that isn’t close to winning a title. In the Knicks case, they lost out on big man Greg Monroe to the Milwaukee Bucks. Name another time in history Milwaukee beat New York in anything? For the Lakers, literally no one signed with them. They had to trade for guy who looks like the mon-stars from Space Jams stole his powers. Kobe looks happy though. This can’t go well for Hibbert.
6. Real Spurs Never Die
For the last twenty years, the Spurs have been the most consistent team in the NBA. Making the playoffs 19 of the 20 years, and winning 5 NBA. The combination of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, and Greg Popovich have been the model that all teams in the NBA have tried to copy. Even when father time comes knocking at the door the team builds up. It is reported that free agent blue chipper LaMarcus Aldridge will be joining the spurs on a 4 year/80 million dollar max contract. This comes off re-signing Kawhi Lenorad and Danny Green all under the age of 30. This really might be the start of something special.
5. Floyd Mayweather takes a lost
Floyd “Money” Mayweather is expected to be stripped of his WBO welterweight title due to a lack of compliance. Mayweather defeated Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao on May 2 to win the title. But ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael reports that the World Boxing Organization officially decided to take back its 147-pound belt from the undefeated Mayweather.
4. White boy can play
If you old enough to remember, Jason Williams was the white Kyrie Irving, don’t believe me, google him. Irving might have to go against his son in a few years. A YouTube video is going around of 13-year-old Jaxon Williams’ breaking ankles like his daddy did back in the day. He has already been dubbed as “White Chocolate Jr.” Watch as the young Williams’ makes these kids dance.
3. Tom Brady got the G card from the Migos
Yea it’s the off-season, and now you got Tom Brady getting passing from the Migos. TMZ sports reports that the Migos have given the G-pass for “dancing to his music.” Brady can now run up in the bando and trap until his heart is content. According to TMZ, Quavo and Takeoff were out in L.A. recently when we asked the Hotlanta boys how they felt about Brady turning up to their hit “Handsome & Wealthy“ at the Patriots Super Bowl ring party. Watch as Tom Brady turns up to the “YRN” music.
2. What the hell is wrong with Iman
Iman Shumpert got a 4 year/ 40 million dollar extension from the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason and decided to spend none of that money on a hair cut. Shumpert has become know for his high top fade, but TMZ sports has learned that he didn’t want that to be his only look. There are no words to describe what type of mess Iman has put on top of his head, but hey it is the NBA off-season.
1. Forget Football, Basketball is were the money is.
Ok does the name Kosta Koufos mean anything to anyone. Didn’t think so, ok he is a 4 year NBA vet who just got 33 million dollars over the next 4 years. The Sacramento Kings, who are battling the Knicks for the worst franchise over the last decade, have signed the big man away from the Memphis Grizzles. His career averages are 5.2 points and 5.3 rebounds with 0.8 blocks. This has to be looked at as the new NBA. where guys who haven’t won any major awards as an individual or a team are getting these M’s. LaMarcus Aldrige just signed a contract that is only 10 million dollars more then Kris Middleon and 5 million less than Draymod Green. What is scare about all these signings is the fact that the cap is going to go up in the NBA after next season. Better work on your handle and jump shoot, because the NBA is where the money is.

It’s the summer, time for cookouts, beach trips, and festivals. Whats not included in those plans are sports. Unless you’re still holding on to the idea of baseball carrying the sports world, sports are in the cellar. Both the NBA and NFL are in complete summer break mode, and trying to follow the off-season moves is like doing the summer reading assignments from school. For a person like me who loves talking sports 24/7, this is driving me crazy. No more touchdown dances, slam dunks, or ear blows from the likes of Lance Stephenson. What is a brother to do? I sat down for a bit and tried to decide that I have to do something until the fall. So I made a list of things that can get you through the months of “who won the offseason”, and “baseball power rankings”.
1. Actually go out and play a sport.
Being from New York I know first hand that we get about 50-80 really great days out of the year. Whats a better way to spend them then actually going out and balling. Basketball, football, soccer, it really doesn’t matter just do something that you know you’ll have fun doing. Great way to stay in shape, work on your game, and meet some new people. Spending just a few hours every week balling will make you forget what cornerback your team signed to their roster.
2. Movies are on FLEEK
I love watching movies, and Hollywood puts out it’s best products during this time of year. Blockbuster premier each and every week, and give movie goers something to talk about around the water-cooler on Mondays. Some of the best movies of the year come out during the summer time.
3. Party and B*llSh*t
This is where you find Mr or Mrs right now. Parties are going to be LIT during this time. Rooftop parties, outdoor festivals, and cookouts are just some of the places to enjoy some liquid courage. Make sure you turn up because before you know it, the school bells start ringing.
4. Albums drop and Concerts go UP
Drake, Future, Nicki, Meek, and Trey are all set to take over the summer touring scene. These big acts and more take their shows on the road all though out the world. The music is here to be played at those parties, in the car ride back from the movies, or at the blacktop while you ball.
I know football is weeks and weeks away, but so is the fall season. While football is God to all the other sports, having a break will allow you to enjoy the other things in life. Sports will return and make your weekends and holidays enjoyable, but summer is here and now. The more you miss the sports, the faster the season will slip away from you.
King Jut (@KingJut92)
From buzzer-beaters, to beating the air out of footballs, it has been another crazy week in sports. Most of the sports talk has revolved around the fall from grace of Patriot’s quarterback Tom Brady. Brady was found to be “more than probable” in the Deflatgate scandal. However, so much more has taken place this week besides the PSI pressure in footballs. Here are the top seven things we learn in sports this week.
