Meek Mill & Nicki Minaj Stunt For GQ in 1st Ever Joint Shoot

Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj have been the underrated narrative throughout this summer, thanks to the overbearing nature of Drake and Meek Mill’s unique riff, but GQ is helping to highlight an intricate Hip-Hop relationship.

“I definitely think we have a normal relationship off-camera. We’re like any other couple in the hood,” started Nicki Minaj, in her interview with Mark Anthony Green, GQ‘s new Style Guy, “We’re growing as a couple and as people and as human beings, but we still have our careers. And I think probably the only thing that makes it un-normal is that we’re both successful artists, and that’s probably not normal. But other than that, our feelings are very normal. Like, if I were to speak to a hundred girls right now about what they go through with their boyfriend, we’d probably have stuff in common.”

The photos, which were shot by Ellen von Unwerth, picture Nicki and Meek rocking a variety of designer threads, going about what one would imagine is their daily business, including hopping out of ridiculous expensive cars, and counting money in the back of them. Meek Mill Tells DJ to Stop Playing Future & Brings Out Nicki Minaj & His Son

Did Meek Mill diss Future?

That’s what everyone on Twitter is wondering after a video surfaced of Meek requesting that his DJ stopped playing Future’s music during his Made in America performance. Meek said:

You’re playing all motherfuckin’ Future tonight, n—a. You don’t play some motherfucking rap too? The hell is you doing, n—a? Play some hot shit too. My n—a Future on Made In America

Future doesn’t seem to really be the problem. It seems that Meek’s upset that the DJ is playing Future’s music on his set meanwhile, Future is a part of the headline. This makes more sense because Future and Meek are collaborators. But you can decide for yourself after watching the video below:

The Philly emcee also brought out his girl Nicki Minaj. The crowd cheered as she strutted across the stage. She then wanted to see how the crowd felt about her “baby daddy” and they eventually performed “All Eyes On You”.

We also got the pleasure to see Meek’s adorable son whip it on stage:

It was only right Meek shut down the stage because it’s his hometown and no longer his girl’s tour. Check out pictures of Meek and Nicki, his son, and his homage to Lil Snupe and Chinx.

Nicki Minaj Calls Out VMA Host Miley Cyrus During Award Acceptance Speech

Heading into this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, much hoopla was made when Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter account and blasted MTV, citing racism and sexism after being snubbed for a nomination for the Video Of The Year category. In her rant, she made light of a certain body type that MTV prefers, claiming that the white media does not champion curvaceous women of color.

If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year. I’m not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much, but are rarely rewarded for it.

A few days later, the host of this year’s show, Miley Cyrus was asked about Nicki Minaj’s sentiments and had this to say.

If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it,” Cyrus said. “And it’s not anger like, ‘Guys, I’m frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue.’ You made it about you. Not to sound like a bitch, but that’s like, ‘Eh, I didn’t get my VMA.’

As the awards got underway, Minaj took to the stage and opened up the show with a performance of “Trini Dem Girls” and later won the award for Best Hip Hop Video for “Anaconda.” During her acceptance speech, she threw some very direct shots at the shows host, Miley Cyrus.

Back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press; Miley, what’s good?

After being confronted, Miley opted to keep it civil.

Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate sh-t. Nicki, congratulations.

For those that missed it

Miley Cyrus Calls Out Nicki Minaj For Her VMA Comments

If one thing is for certain it’s that Miley Cyrus does things for attention. Still, if history is to repeat itself, she may one day regret her comments in a recent New York Times interview, regarding her hosting of the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday evening.

Straying from the topic at hand ever so slightly, Cyrus and interviewer Joe Coscarelli talked briefly about how Cyrus felt about Nicki Minaj’s Twitter rant from earlier this month, in which she points out that “Anaconda,” one of the biggest videos of 2014–it broke a VEVO record–was snubbed by less impactful visuals in the Video of the Year category. According to Minaj, that snub followed a noticeable trend at these types of award shows, in which slimmer, Caucasian artists are given favorable nominations.

Taylor Swift would eventually insert herself into the conversation, taking offense to Minaj’s comments, considering she’s a slimmer, Caucasian woman that consistently gets nominated for the aforementioned award–and is nominated for it this year once again.

Cyrus, who will set the tone for Sunday’s show, had this to say about the entire situation.

What did you make of the Nicki Minaj controversy around the V.M.A.s — that she was upset “Anaconda” wasn’t nominated for Video of the Year?

I saw that. I didn’t really get into it. I know there was some beef. I don’t really know. There’s a way to talk to people …

Do you know what she said?

She was saying that everyone was white and blonde that got nominated, I heard? And then Taylor Swift butted in.

She may have alluded to “Wrecking Ball” also, saying that when a naked white girl breaks a Vevo record she gets nominated.

I didn’t follow it. You know what I always say? Not that this is jealousy, but jealousy does the opposite of what you want it to — that’s a yoga mantra. People forget that the choices that they make and how they treat people in life affect you in a really big way. If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it.

And it’s not anger like, “Guys, I’m frustrated about some things that are a bigger issue.”

You made it about you. Not to sound like a bitch, but that’s like, “Eh, I didn’t get my V.M.A.”

But she was ——

If you want to make it about race, there’s a way you could do that. But don’t make it just about yourself. Say: “This is the reason why I think it’s important to be nominated. There’s girls everywhere with this body type.”

I think she did say that ——

What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It’s not very polite. I think there’s a way you speak to people with openness and love. You don’t have to start this pop star against pop star war. It became Nicki Minaj and Taylor in a fight, so now the story isn’t even on what you wanted it to be about. Now you’ve just given E! News “Catfight! Taylor and Nicki Go at It.”

I know you can make it seem like, Oh I just don’t understand because I’m a white pop star. I know the statistics. I know what’s going on in the world. But to be honest, I don’t think MTV did that on purpose.

Well then. Sure, one could say Cyrus isn’t as well-versed on exactly what happened during that Twitter exchange, but saying something “sounded very Nicki Minaj,” and then clarifying that to mean impolite and lacking love is certainly a risque method of assessment. Sunday will be most intriguing.

Nicki Minaj Caressed Meek Mill’s…Erm…Junk on Stage Last Night

The Meekprint Tour, coming to a city near you

Last night, Nicki Minaj‘s Pinkprint Tour hit Chicago, and from the looks of it, it was a great show. It certainly had Nicki excited, and, well, Meek was pretty excited too.

Hip-Hop’s hottest power couple has, many a time, displayed their growing affection for each other on stage, but in Chi-town, they brought it to new heights. During a sensual performance of “Bad For You,” the other song Omeeka has on Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money album, Nicki got straight to the point, and started rubbing Meek’s junk while he rapped.

Meek did a damn good job of keeping his focus while he rapped, save a bit of a smirk. There’s no way I’d be able to rap anything with that going on. You can watch the video of their…encounter, here.

Also, once you’ve watched that a couple times, Meek had a little fun with Drake’s assessment of his placement on Nicki’s tour, and you can check that out here.

5 Reasons Nicki Minaj Can’t Break Up With Meek Mill This Week

Nicki Minaj is in the toughest spot between her baby bruddah Drake and booski Meek Mill. This beef has indeed brought life back to Hip Hop and fans haven’t had a show like this in years. Like a fair player, we have to assume Minaj won’t choose sides in this fight but it’d be hard to believe she didn’t speak her mind to one or even both of them.

With that being said, if Meek Mill decides to act out on Nicki Minaj this week, here are 5 reasons why now is not a good time to call it quits:

  1. For the most obvious reason, Minaj is stuck between a rock and a hard place. You see it, I see it, and I’m pretty sure her man sees it. So cutting things off right now would wild up the media to make it seem like she’s going 100% cash money on this beef. We know blood is thicker than water but in such harsh and tense circumstances, it’s best she stays out of it.
  2.  If Onika checked Rahmik’s phone this week, and found naked pictures, she will have to swallow the pill! Regardless of what excuse she gives him about how “this isn’t going to work” every track following the break up is going to be about how he thought she was a rida’ but she was a really a stunna and how he ain’t wifin’ no check even if his grandmama love ha. Like, No! DC4 would shine light on a brand new Meek Mill just because she chose this week, of all weeks, to end their relationship.
  3. The Barbz have always been loyal to Miss Harajuku herself, but will they be able to defend the bashing that will be coming her way? Thou will be slandered. It’s guaranteed that if Nicki decided to end the Omeeka reign, she would easily turn all of the attention from a clean Hip Hop beef to about her. We want to keep the focus on what Meek Mill is going to do to save his career right now, not what he is going to do to save his relationship.
  4. “Let a man, be a man.” Every woman has been told this once or twice, and now is the time that Nicki exercises this lesson. Leaving Meek right now would be like, knocking a man while he’s down. Her job as his woman, is to get out of her feelings, let all things go for the time being and encourage him to fight like a champ. Do it for the state of Rap music Nicki!
  5. Last but not least, Nicki Minaj can NOT break up with Meek this week because the battle would be OVER. Drake officially wins this fight, that Meek started, all because Onika didn’t stand by her man at his lowest point. If that happens, Drake has officially turned Meek Mill’s Pasta back into Noodles.

Drops mic, shout out to my ghost writer though.
