When it rains it pours
With Robert Griffin III being benched this week for Kirk Cousins, a lot of fans and media members are confused as how this decision was made. One fan took to his Instagram page to express his feelings towards the situation.
Here is the full caption:
“As a Skins Fan I’m disappointed in the way my team used this mans [sic] talent and potential to do nothing but raise hopes and make a profit. I don’t regret the skins grabbing RG, I do regret having a sorry ass team owner and sorry ass front office who couldn’t put a winning coaching staff together who could actually compete for a super bowl. Griffin does not deserve the blame or bad rap, the man has gone above and beyond since day one to the point of injury, while at the same time being a role model of a person. The Redskins let him fall and did not help him get up. No matter if he’s a starter, back up, or played for another team I will always respect and be a fan of RG3. #HTTR #Loyalty #ImpeachDanSnyder #Redskins #redskinsnation #DC #NFL @rgiii @espn @nfl”
Seems as if this is no big deal. Only if Griffin had not liked the pic.
As Uproxx’s Chris Mottram spotted, Griffin “liked” that post—the same post that heavily criticized the organization’s owner and front office. That might not be the smartest move for a player under contract with a franchise.
Griffin then took to his Instagram page to address the situation.

It is just a matter of time for these two sides to part ways, but it seems that they are stuck with each other for a little bit longer.

The Washington Redskins will start Kirk Cousins against the Miami Dolphins for the season opener, according to ESPN‘s Dianna Russini.

Cousins will get the start over Robert Griffin III,who hasn’t passed his concussion test as of yet. The situation still seems weird, because Griffin was quoted saying that he expected to pass the concussion test and play in the Redskins third preseason game.
The issue between RGIII and the Redskins might boil over concerning his playing time, but it seems that issue of his concussion is a non-factor.
I cannot stress this enough: Even if Redskins & RG3 will soon be at odds over his future, they are not at odds over handling of concussion.

Cousins started five games last season due to an ankle injury Griffin suffered in Week 2 of the season. Cousins is 2-7 as a starter in the NFL.

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, 26, ranks as one of the top tier players at his position in the NFL. In the 2014 season, he re-wrote the teams record books when he raked in 1,593 receiving yards and a career-high 104 receptions. With one more year left on his original rookie contract, the Falcons most certainly took notice of his talents and rewarded him with a monumental 5 year deal for $71.25 Million, with $47.5 Million of it guaranteed.
Both parties had been negotiating a deal for quite some time but the talks stalled last week. During the weekend, the contract talks resumed and the deal was signed sealed and delivered.
I didn’t have any doubt in my mind that we were going to get it done,” Jones said. “Whether it was this year or next year, we were going to get a deal done. I want to be a Falcon for the rest of my career, and Mr. Blank let it be known that he wanted me here as well.
With new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan in tow, and all-pro quarterback Matt Ryan behind center, the Falcons look to build on the success they’ve enjoyed in recent years with Jones presumably set to finish out his career in a Falcons uniform.
Remember when the Falcons gave Mike Vick a $100 Million contract? – Rocko Rathon (@Rocko_CNK)
This past Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers back up quarterback Bruce Gradkowski dislocated a finger trying to recover a fumble while playing against the Green Bay Packers. Moving swiftly, the Steelers invited veteran QB Mike Vick to the team facilities for a physical. With the media catching wind of this, a concerned Steelers launched a petition on Change.org, urging fellow fans to dissuade the franchise from signing Vick due to his stint in prison on federal dog fighting charges.
Michael Vick is a convicted felon and no-class piece of crap. He is also a terrible QB which is why he has no team. Let’s united as Steeler fans – as NFL fans – and stop him from playing on our team! Steelers fans united! Sign to keep Vick from ever wearing the coveted Steelers uniform!!
Needing 10,000 signatures, the petition currently sits at a little over 9,100. But all of this was too late as the Steelers confirmed that they have inked a deal with Vick for one year. With QB Landry Jones currently on their depth chart, Vick will most likely be competing with him for the back up role to starter Ben Roethlisberger.
Vick ,34,has seen a decline in statistics and suitors in recent years as he has played for the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets in the past 2 seasons. Having been injury prone throughout his career, his inability to remain healthy was the eventual cause of him losing his starting gig to Geno Smith during his tenure with the Jets.
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin:
Obviously we’re sensitive to those potential things but we are going to do our due diligence. Rest assured that we’ve done that, but rest assured he’s done a lot since he’s gone through some of the things he’s gone through and his track record at this point in that regard speaks for itself.
He most certainly won’t be wearing his trademark Number 7 – Rocko Rathon (@Rocko_CNK)
