Former No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett is officially unemployed.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Bennett have agreed to a buyout that will make him a free agent.
Minnesota forward Anthony Bennett has reached agreement on a contract buyout, soon to free him on waivers, league sources tell Yahoo.
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) September 22, 2015
The former UNLV standout was the first player selected in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. After continuous lackluster play, Bennett was traded to the Timberwolves along with the following year’s No.1 pick and eventual NBA Rookie of the Year, Andrew Wiggins.
Once the buyout is finalized, the Wolves will place Bennett on waivers, and should he clear, Minnesota will be on the hook for whatever guaranteed amount both sides agree to, which will almost surely reduce the Wolves obligation from the $5.8 million he’s owed for 2015-16.

NBA legend Shaquille O’ Neal is probably kicking himself for a statement he made that cost him millions. While doing an interview with sports reporter, Graham Bensinger O’Neal says Starbucks CEO, Howard Schultz contacted the basketball player in wanting to do business in opening the coffee franchise in predominately Black neighborhoods.
When Shaq got the call from his agent about the idea, the ballplayer quickly turned down the idea saying, “Black people don’t drink coffee.” Having grown up on sweet tea and hot chocolate, O’Neal says that he never seen anyone in his household drink coffee. O’Neal says that he is the type of guy who believes that if he doesn’t agree to the idea 100 percent, he will not do it. So he spoke to Schultz and declined the offer.
Now O’Neal says that turning down the offer was the, “one of the worst business decisions.” During the interview, O’Neal laughed at what he does when he sees a Starbucks,
“Now, every time, on every corner in every city, every country you see a Starbucks, I’m like, ‘Awww.'”

“Moses holds a special place in our hearts and will forever be remembered as a genuine icon and pillar of the most storied era in the history of Philadelphia 76ers basketball” – 76ers.
After failing to report to a celebrity golf tournament, Moses Malone was found dead in his hotel room with no sign of foul play.
Malone went pro straight out of high school and was named one of NBA’s 50 greatest players. He led the 76ers to the finals in 1983 and got the MVP title. The 12-time All-Star also holds NBA records for offensive rebounds in a career (6,731), season (587) and game (21).
Moses Malone Jr. told FOX 26 Houston that his father was his “best friend”.
He taught us so much about life. He came from nothing. He taught us how to work hard and respect people, love your family and always do the right thing. He’s a good person. He was always there to help people. He cared about people who had less than him.
Some of Moses’ colleagues expressed their grievances via Twitter. Check it out:
