Joe Budden Talks “SlaughterMouse” With Genius; Speaks Candidly About Relationship With Eminem

Say what you will about Joe Budden; he’s probably heard it all. A veteran whose career spans a dozen years, and which has straddled both mainstream success and underground dominance — namely as member of the hyper-lyrical supergroup Slaughterhouse — Budden’s story is quite a tale. Though his tumultuous love life has taken the spotlight in recent years, the Jersey vet instead spoke candidly with Genius‘ new manager of artist relations, Rob Markman, about Shady Records /Interscope label head, Eminem.

During their nearly 10 minutes talk, Budden and Markman scrutinize “Slaughtermouse”, a track off of Joe’s upcoming third studio album, All Love Lost. The track has already been labeled as a “diss track” to some and to others an open letter, while Joe, himself, refer’s to it as his version of Em’s foreboding Marshall Mathers LP hit, “Stan”. The discourse spans several topics, including: Joe and Em sharing a similar path such as addiction to drugs and lover’s quarrels with their respective significant others, Joe surmising that Em’s superstardom would mean success for himself and Slaughterhouse, and Joe weighing in on how impactful “My Name Is” would be if it were released in 2015.

Check out the video for yourself above, as well as the lyrics to “Slaughtermouse” with verified annotations by Joe below. Also be sure to see Joe Budden and Rob Markman live, as panelists during SOURCE360, which kicks off today and goes on through Sunday — get information and tickets here.

Meek Mill on Joe Budden “Controversy”: “Joe Budden is Corny as Sh*t”

Meek Mill sounds off on that awkward Twitter back-and-forth

Over the weekend, Meek Mill and Joe Budden engaged in a rather comedic back-and-forth on Twitter, beginning with some comments Joe Budden made on his podcast regarding Meek and Nicki Minaj‘s relationship. In a nutshell, Budden said he felt Meek’s music was “too hard” to be acting as sensitive as he was acting around Nicki Minaj, and alluded to the fact Meek was acting with a bushy-tailed demeanor because he’s not used to having women as “bad” as Nicki.

Meek responded half-seriously with a series of Twitter trolls, in which he called Joe Budden a “noodle” and invited Minaj’s fan base, the “Barbz,” to further ridicule the New Jersey rapper and reality TV star. Nicki herself even jumped in on Twitter, hashtagging “podcast” to troll Budden about one of his current claims to fame.

Today, Meek took to The Breakfast Club to chat with Charlamagne, DJ Envy and Angela Yee on his new album, his very favorable sales–246,000 SPS (wow!)–and other pertinent Meek Mill issues, like said Joe Budden interaction. You can watch the entire interview above, which really gets going when the Bfast Club crew gets to asking about the Twitter spat.

Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj and Joe Budden Engage in Twitter Spat

What’s Twitter without fake beef?

Last night, in the wee hours of the morning, Meek Mill caught wind of Joe Budden‘s comments from his podcast, I’ll Name This Podcast Later, concerning his relationship with Nicki Minaj. To put it simply, Joe Budden said Meek was acting too soft for the music he makes, and he needs to “man up” so to speak, even when he’s showing love to Minaj.

Part of my problem with that is Meek’s music is too hard. Meek’s music is too hard for me to look at him with this f*cking sappy f*ck-shit. Be the hardcore guy that I’m sure she was attracted to at some point. It’s nasty. I hate everything about it.

Baller Alert grabbed the initial tweet interaction and put it in an Instagram post, which you can see below.

Naturally, as you can see by the progression of Meek’s tweets–he even sic’d Nicki Minaj fans (“Barbz”) on Joe Budden as if they were in a nearby barn waiting to burst through the doors–this amounted to nothing but a 140-character back-and-forth, but things got a little interesting when Nicki Minaj jumped in.

Welp. Though there’s absolutely a good chance Joe Budden would come out of this victorious on wax, he’s no match for #Omeeka in the Twittersphere.

Joe Budden Was Arraigned On Assault Charges Yesterday

This isn’t Twitter

Undoubtedly, you’ve seen some of the social media/actual media fracas concerning New Jersey native Joe Budden and the NYPD “manhunt” he’s been involved in over the weekend.  He was wanted on assault and robbery charges after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend and stealing her phone on August 18th while in New York City in the wee hours of the morning.

After a comedic showing on Twitter, in which he also politely asked the NYPD to “suck my d***”, Budden turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday, which is when he was arraigned on charges of robbery, assault and grand larceny.  He was promptly released after his mother posted his $10,000 bail early this morning.

No word on when the trial will start, but it’ll take some serious effort from the “Pump It Up star”‘s lawyer to get him clean off of this one.

Joe Budden Allegedly Beat Up His Girlfriend and is Now Wanted By NYPD

Seems as if Joe Budden is in quite a bit of trouble

Joe Budden will be facing some serious charges if the allegations of him brutally beating up his girlfriend are true. According to TMZ Joe seen several photos of his girl with other men and let’s just say he didn’t take it well at all. Allegedly Joe tracked her down while she was out at a New York City restaurant and dragged her out to his car where he allegedly choked her and slammed her head into the dashboard. After driving her back to his New Jersey home he reportedly continued to beat her. TMZ has released the very graphic photos of her bruises and injuries and cops are investigating. Although Joe has not yet responded, Budden’s attorney, Nima Ameri, reached out to TMZ  and said Budden:

“looks forward to an opportunity to responsibly deal with and address the allegations so he may establish the actual facts.” Ameri says the rapper is cooperating with the investigation and the facts will “demonstrate the truth of Mr. Budden’s involvement and the real events that transpired.”

Here’s the icing on the cake. According to the NYPD’s offical Twitter account, the rapper is now listed as “Wanted.” Check out the tweet below and find out why.

Is Eminem Going To Battle Hollow Da Don At The Next ‘Total Slaughter’

Could Bunny Rabbit be making an appearance at a battle sometime soon

This weekend the battle rap event put on by Eminem and Watch Loud, ‘Total Slaughter’ took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. You were also able to purchase the event via On Demand PPV; many also tuned in via not so kosher live streams to watch the packed battle card.

Arsenal defeated Big T, T-Rex defeated Daylty to become the first official winner of the Total Slaughter contest, Murda Mook handily defeated longtime rival Loaded Lux & Hollow Da Don bested Joe Budden in the final bout.

However the verdict of the final battle did not come without a bit of controversy. Although initial response via social media seemed to side with the official decision that Hollow had won, since then, many (myself included) have shown their support that Joe Budden had indeed won. Popular hip hop forum Itsbx currently has Budden as the victor in a poll that has so far included over 350 votes, also RealTalkNY has a poll with over 2,000 votes with Budden being a dominant winner.

Many felt that the implications of someone like Budden deciding to step into the battle arena could possibly help the burgeoning sub genre immensely. Well if what Hollow Da Don said today on twitter is rooted in any truth then that sentiment may be about to be proven right, to an incredible degree.

It is important to note that Hollow made Shady Records, Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg, and even Em himself the target of many of his scathing bars spit throughout the night.

Update: Saying things like  “i was feelin weird, cuz they millionaires but they was lazy with the payments, cut my cash in half and now im in a Shady situation” , “Jimmy Iovine, die please and Rosenberg eat a dick you fat piece of shit” ” “im sayin no this shady show, and thats the staff, Eminem your still my favorite bro” in a almost mocking kind of way.   Although Hollow might not want to see it as a “diss”, shitting all over someones life long manager, team,  record label, and event is sure to get the bosses attention and not typically the way a respectful disagreement is brought to light.

It’s obviously possible that Hollow is just gassing the public and trying to capitalize on his new found fame; but really is it THAT far fetched? I mean one would think that someone with the stature or Eminem would have everything to lose and nothing to gain; but this is the same man who by all accounts cares about rap and rhyming in general more than any human being on the planet.

Take into consideration that many felt Joe Budden stepping into the battle arena was a very selfless and positive move for the growth of hip hop as a whole, just imagine what it would mean for Eminem- arguably one of the greatest and almost unarguably the most successful rapper ever, to step into this next environment.

Also lets be real here, would anyone truly think Eminem would lose?

We’ll keep you posted with any new developments.
