Future’s second project in 3 months is ready for your listening pleasure
It’s been an eventful 12 months for Future, who has released his critically-acclaimed sophomore album, had a child with his girlfriend Ciara, broke up with his girlfriend Ciara, released another awesome project–Monster–and scored a major hit, “Move That Dope.” All of that happened in 2014, and it appears the Atlanta native is looking to keep that run going in the new year. With the help of Zaytoven, who produced all 9 tracks of Future’s newest mixtape, Future has brought us Beast Mode, which is a pretty good way to summarize the mode Future’s been in since last spring. Beast Mode boasts the two records the potenet duo released prior to today’s mixtape release, “Real Sisters,” “Just Like Bruddas,” and you can listen to the rest of it, and/or download, below.

Future released his proper debut album, Honest, earlier this year to pretty rave reviews, and before 2014 wraps up, Future wants everyone to know he’s here to stay. Honest, which produced several popular records–none bigger than the Pusha T & Pharrell-featured “Move That Dope”, which just won a BET Hip-Hop Award for Best Club Banger–and the Atlanta native is looking to build on his success with Monster, a mixtape executive-produced by frequent collaborator Metro Boomin.
The music video for the title track, “Monster”, will debut on October 3rd, and Future will unleash this Monster to the world on the 28th of October. Get ready.
“I went so hard in these streets, I’m bout to have me a feast!”
Future delivered one of the better rap albums of the year in 2014, and no one should be surprised. After the release of his debut album, the Atlanta native became a household name, and with records like “Sh!t”, “I Won” and “Move That Dope”, there’s no denying the guy’s ability to deliver a hit record. “T-Shirt” may not be as common as the aforementioned jams, but its one of the standout records on his sophomore album, Honest, and with a little help from Mike Will Made It and Wiz Khalifa, Ciara‘s baby daddy delivers a good time in the “T-Shirt” visual.
Future keeps the hype of his Honest album going, with the release of the visuals to a bonus track, entitled “Side Effects”. Although the visuals are a bit simplistic, it is just enough to get your attention. Unlike his previous videos, the video focuses only on Future and has no appearances form anyone else. This one-man show, displays his raw emotions. Throughout the two and half minute experience, he is spotted hopping in a jet laced with a couple of pieces form Virgil Abloh’s Off White collection to eventually end up in a basketball court expressing his feelings. Springing off of the release of his debut album, Honest, Future gives us visual treatment for his next single “Blood, Sweat, Tears.”

Future is no stranger to tie-in flash games, as he released an excellent driving sim for his “Move That Dope” single only a month ago. Yesterday, the Atlanta emcee released the second game from his Honest album, this time for the track “I Won”. Featuring Future and Kanye West relaxing on a beach, while beautiful women walk pass, the object of the game is to make the girls “trophies” (obvious misogyny aside). How does one do that? You throw chains on them, almost a virtual horseshoe competition, just slightly more difficult as they are moving targets. We haven’t played around with the game for too long, but it seems quite addicting. Check it out above or at the website here.
After Future’s performance on The Tonight’s Show last night starring Jimmy Fallon in NYC, Hot 97 studios got the chance to talk with Future. Before the conversation even began, Ebro felt the need to address a former issue he had with the artist being listed on MTV’s “Hottest MC’s in the game” list. Ebro later questioned Future’s music without the auto-tone, and Future replied by divulging that auto-tune-less that’s something we should expect on his next album entitled Future Hendrix. “I just had to take a step back and connect with the fans.”
During the discussion Cipha Sounds mentioned how Future used to always be in the studio with The Dungeon Family, which is probably something most people didn’t know about him. The artist also talked about how one of his family members Rico Wade of Organized Noize helped him learn to write songs, and learn melodies.
When Laura Stylez asked Future about his expected baby with Ciara, it was enlightening to know that the baby is expected to come anytime, also rather comforting to know that Future won’t be taking a paternity leave from his career because of an upcoming tour in May, therefore he will be a dad on the road. Go Future! Check out the full interview below.
