The beatbox needs a little work but Tiara Thomas rips this freestyle!
Singer, songwriter, and lyricist Tiara Thomas is making her return to music on a higher level, all puns intended. Her official break in the industry started when MMG artist Wale teamed up with the college graduate for the platinum selling record “Bad”. It came to no surprise when Tiara’s career skyrocketed after the release of the hit single, and soon after signed to industry power house Rico Love. Currently Thomas has separated from her contract with Rico’s Division One label and is releasing her a project next month solo. Tiara tells us about the progression of her music career, the EP Up In Smoke that is set to be released August 12th, and spills who she would F, Marry, or Kill out of Mack Wilds, Fetty Wap, and Kendrick Lamar.

Fresh off the release of Low Pros, Lex Luger’s collaborative project with A-Trak, he connects with the recently resurgent NEAKO on a 3 song EP entitled “The xanBand”. Last time these two collaborated it was on the trap classic “In Every City“. A few laters, NEAKO has morphed his flow into more a drugged-out world that channels the esoteric world of auto-tune expression with a healthy dosage of Xanax and Lean; makes so much sense in a post-“Drill Music” era where Chief Keef has graduated to a style that resembles a BASED expression of emotion instead of old-school lyricism. Subdued, melodic and at the same time, carrying the same musical DNA that birthed modern trap music, namely Lex Luger on the boards, this mini-mixtape is a dope experiment in modern trap music. It may sound strange now, but this is definitely futuristic. Listen to the collaborative EP below.
The Dream has been extremely quiet as of late, but that should come as a surprise to very few. Back in June of last year, after Dream’s first-week numbers showed he had only sold roughly 43,000 copies of a pretty highly-anticipated album (IV Play), he took to Twitter to defend his place in the industry after a fan clowned him for said numbers.
Spend 7 million I’m promo and Marketing and to sell 300k.. Nigga please. Just to say you did good. Nigga ima make 5mil on sync fees idgof.
Does that sound like a man eager to get back into the studio and make more music? No, but in fact, Mr. Terius Nash appears to have been working diligently behind the scenes. The word’s been out for a little while now that he’s working on his new album, Fruition, but with an ambiguous announcement yesterday, The Dream will be releasing a project today titled Royalty: The Prequel. He revealed the cover art and tracklist to the EP on his Instagram account, and teased the release date with the caption 777. Nash was born in 1977–which, incidentally, is the title of his last EP–and today is July 7th (7/7), so it was already apparent that he was hinting at the release date, but later on Sunday evening, The Dream announced via his site, Contra Paris, that at 7pm on 7/7 (tonight), we’ll be getting new music from Radio Killa. Check out the artwork and tracklist–sans featured artists and production credits–below.

Following their spectacular Govenor’s Ball performance, Childish Gambino and Chance The Rapper had the internet ablaze with their extended version of “The Worst Guys” track. When Because The Internet came out, many fans were a little upset that Chano didn’t have a full verse on the album version and were pretty pleased when he debuted it, live on stage. It got a lot of people wondering where it was originally and what this meant for the two friends.
Well Gambino predicted this and answered it via Twitter. Apparently, the two emcees have been planning or working on a collaborative project. It seems that Chance has been causing the delay for it’s dropping; not sending his verses in on time. Hopefully, they can work out all the kinks and get this EP out to fans. This would be a major move for both.
now that chance finally released his verse on “worst guys”, maybe he can hurry up and finish the rest of our EP. #hinthint
