Beyonce Slays Her Performance at Made in America 2015

Yet another stellar performance from the Queen Bey.

Of course Beyonce had a set on her hubby’s and Budweiser’s annual Made in America music festival in Philadelphia, and of course she slayed.

Its been a minute since the On the Run Tour when Beyonce hit the stage alongside Jay-Z performing an array of their collaborative and solo songs in a loving rendition. Last night’s performance had an independent and girl power theme, with a hint of turn up. She performed “Love On Top”, “Diva”, “7/11”, and more. Fabolous caught videos of Bey dancing to Future’s “Where Ya At” and Lil Ronny MothaF’s “Circle”. Check it out:

Beyonce Started The Surprise Album Trend, This Cool Infographic Shows It’s Impact

It’s BeyDay. A day where, in honor of the queen’s 34th birthday, we celebrate all things amazing about arguably the greatest artist of our generation.

One of the Beyonce‘s biggest contributions to society and specifically the music industry was her now infamous, unannounced, surprise album, digital drop in December of 2013. The folks over at Rukkus.com have blessed us with an infographic that shows just how far the reach of Bey’s tactic has gone; and how it has worked out for other artists like Drake, Kid Cudi, and most recently Miley Cyrus and her new post VMA album release.

Check it out below, all hail the queen

Amy Poehler Featured A Not So Funny Joke About Blue Ivy & R. Kelly On Her Show

Twitter is dragging comedians Amy Poehler and Julie Klausner through the mud after Klausner made an insensitive crack on Poehler’s Hulu show, Difficult People. The joke was: “I can’t wait for Blue Ivy to be 18-year-old so R Kelly can piss on her.”

For those that live under a rock, she’s referring to R. Kelly being found guilty in 2008 for a 2002 accusation of him urinating on a female minor. And Blue Ivy is the toddler of power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Blue Ivy is the #BeyHive’s princess and if Amy didn’t know, now she knows that no one messes with the #BeyHive.  Here’s a few tweets from the Twitter uproar regarding the tasteless joke:

Beyonce Becomes First Black Female Artist to Grace Vogue’s September Issue

Beyonce is making history…again

As big as Beyonce is, she does an incredible job of staying out of headlines. Even her daughter, Blue Ivy, is seldom seen or heard from, unlike similarly coveted celebrity kids. However, when she does pop up, she shuts it down.

Late last night, the September cover of Vogue was teased on social media, and none other than Beyonce is standing tall on the hotly-coveted cover. Beyonce marks just the third Black woman to be featured on Anna Wintour‘s world-changing publication’s cover, and the first Black female artist in Vogue history to grace the September cover.

You can grab your copy on newsstands soon, but for now, check out Beyonce like you’ve never seen her before in an exclusive Vogue video here.

Beyoncé’s $337K Glass Slipper

A Cinder-BEY-ella story!

This is definitely a Cinderella Story for you. This occasion entails our very own princess, or should I say: Queen B Beyoncé. Yes, Queen B just dropped $337,000 for a 65.6 carat shoe that will be featured in her new music video. The Borgezie Princess Diamond Constellation is an entailed 1,310 diamond encrusted stiletto. The shoe inspired by royalty was sought after months prior to owner Chris Shellis, who was all but thrilled that Beyoncé would be wearing his shoe!

“If you want someone to model your creations, you can’t get any better than Beyoncé.”

It is also rumored that Bey will be wearing an $85,000 dollar belt from the same company in the visual. Money can definitely buy fashion in my book! And these shoes, which if you click here, you can get further details. Tell us more and what you think by tweeting us at @HerSource.

DJ Cassidy Talks Being Found By Diddy And Lying To R Kelly in Annotations for Genius

A dapper sense of style, which includes 24-carat gold microphones, color-blocked tuxedos, and cricket sweaters is only a small portion of why DJ Cassidy is such a recognized and famed figure in the Hip Hop. With a résumé that includes not only DJ’ing Beyoncé and Jay Z’s 2008 wedding, but even President Obama’s 50th birthday and 2009 inauguration, his importance permeates throughout the culture. It’s interesting though, to examine the roots of such a blossomed and esteemed figure, to learn the steps that galvanized such glaring achievements, and that’s exactly what DJ Cassidy does in his new annotations for Genius.

In commentary Cassidy recalls receiving Diddy‘s number as a college freshman:

He comes up to me on the way out and looks at me and he does kind of a triple take and he is like, “Where is the DJ?” And I said, “I am the DJ.’” And he said, “Who has been here all night playing all these old records?” And I said, “Me.” So he writes down his number and says, “Call me tomorrow.” I was a freshman at college, NYU, and I was so nervous to call him. Like, Puffy, he was the king of New York, you know? And I finally got the nerve to call him and I got his voicemail and it rang a few times and then it said, “God is the greatest, leave a message.”

He also talks about lying to R. Kelly to hit the studio:

I texted him and said, “Hi,” and I didn’t know what to call him so I said, “Hi, Mr. Kelly, it is DJ Cassidy. If you remember we met a year ago. I am in Chicago and I would love to come by the studio tomorrow. Can I?” Or something like that. And he wrote back right away, “Sure.” Of course, I was actually in New York and I was testing my hypothesis, which is that famous people don’t like the pressure of you flying to go see them, so if I was flying to go see someone I had to lie about why I was there.

Cassidy gives provides candid info about transcending the New York club scene to collaborations with R. Kelly, Jessie JChromeo and more in on is verified Genius page. Check out the interesting gems here.

Jay Z and Beyonce are Trying to Purchase the Rights to the Confederate Flag

The Carters have spoken

In light of the numerous controversies surrounding the confederate flag, and its prominent display and use in American government and merchandise, several prominent politicians and public figures have come forward to express their discontent with the flag’s continued use, considering it’s oppressive origins. Last week, the flag was stripped from it’s position on South Carolina’s statehouse grounds by a heroic citizen, and yesterday, the South Carolina Senate voted to officially remove it.

Today, news has broken that Jay Z and Beyonce are currently attempting to purchase the rights to the flag, so they can help restrict it’s use and reproduction. An attorney for the Carters had this to say about their confederate mission.

My clients are adamant about purchasing the rights to the Rebel Confederate flag. They have expressed deep concern regarding the flag and how it is tearing apart our nation. Mr. and Mrs. Carter wants to assist in the abolishment of the flag by purchasing the resell rights to the Confederate flag. If my clients are successful, purchasing the rights would mean that anyone who wants to produce merchandise using the Confederate flag would have to get permission from Mr. and Mrs. Carter. My clients have expressed that they are not looking to profit from the use of the flag, but rather prevent any further use of the flag on merchandise.

It’ll be interesting to see how far they’re allowed to get. This will be no easy accomplishment by any stretch of the imagination.
