BET is so fortunate to have been there since the beginning with these amazing artists. It’s been fun looking back at the early years of these superstars; many of whom have their very first look on BET. Through this show you’ll get nostalgic, but also realize the work, dedication and growth to today of your favorite performers,” says Stephen G. Hill, BET President of Programming.
The full season of “THE BET LIFE OF…” will feature the following (Schedule subject to change):

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson will document his life off the field with the six-episode BET docu-series “DeSean Jackson: Home Team.” DeSean, and his brother Byron Jackson, serve as the show’s executive producers. The show will detail the life of the 28-year-old star as he takes on the challenges of his adult life.
Variety reports that Byron shares that the three-time-Pro Bowler “encounters getting serious and heated with his love interest, becoming his own man, and his mom and his sister coming to grips with it.”
But Byron does explain that there were things that were off-limits for viewers.
“When you are used to being in front of a camera, you take it in stride. DeSean likes being in front of the camera, he likes entertaining,” he said. “That is all he knows, but he is also very private as well, there are some moments he does not want me to film.”
The series is set to premier on BET at 8:30P/7:30C, make sure to tune in.
The 2015 BET Awards performance line up just got better.
Recently BET announced that Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar would be performing at the BET Awards. As BET continues to roll out the expected performers, they tweeted that Meek Mill will be added on the bill:
BET also confirmed that Nicki Minaj and Ne-yo will be hitting the stage. So far the list is full of artists who had a good year so the performances should be good too. Hopefully we get a surprise from Meek and hear a single from his highly anticipated album Dreams Worth More Than Money.
The BET Awards will be hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross and air live on Sunday, June 28th @ 8 PM.

A lot of your favorite shows from “back in the day” are being revived, and BET has joined the party, announcing their plans to bring back Punk’d.
The show was originally hosted by Ashton Kutcher, in which he pranked celebrities like, Beyonce, Drake, and many more. The show’s original network MTV attempted to bring the show back in 2012, but that revival was short-lived.
We’re not too sure if Ashton Kutcher will still be the host, but according to BET, everyone that will be a part of the project will be “tailored” to the audience, which sounds like a veiled way of saying they’re searching for a Black host.
As soon as details on the show’s air date are made available, we’ll have an update.
It was confirmed via Bet.com that R&B singers Kelly Rowland and Brandy Norwood have both landed new shows on the network. Kelly‘s show will be a talent competition show, and will be searching for the next “hot singing sensation.” Brandy who is currently co-starring on the hit show “The Game,” will be starring in her very own scripted series. Here’s a description of the two new shows below:
As a founding member of Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland knows what it takes to win. The talented vocalist, actor and competition judge has joined forces with BET to launch Chasing Destiny, a multiplatform search for the next blazing hot singing sensation that will bring together young women with all that’s required to meet Kelly Rowland’s standards for excellence.
A romantic comedy featuringZoë Moon (Brandy Norwood), a newly divorced single mom embarking on her new life and career as a fledgling cosmetics mogul — but it won’t be easy. Her ex-husband is not ready to take a back seat in her life, nor is her precocious 10 year-old son ready for her new dating life.
In 50th anniversary of the historic march on Selma, BET has organized a musical concert. The show is to be a representation of the civil rights movement. In this show features included Bill Whithers, Cicely Tyson and Harry Belafonte. In addition Hip Hop veterans Bell Biv DeVoe, Flava Flav, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte, D-Nice, Vanilla Ice and Rick Ross.
Controversy has risen over the past few hours when it was announced that Vanilla Ice will be apart of such the remarkable event. Parker Baxter who is the President of BET Event Production and the Executive Vice President of Centric TV is the person who was responsible for choosing Vanilla Ice defended his decision.
“Vanilla Ice was in the Soul Train Awards two years ago and he’s a really cool person. When we call him for things he likes working with us and we like working with him,” Baker recently told AL.com, an Alabama based website. “He’s one of the people we call to participate in things with us, and if he can do it he absolutely will. I sent him a text and within two minutes his response was two words: ‘I’m in.'”
The show will take place at the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the same location where police attacked protestors during their march from Selma to the Alabama state capital in Montgomery. Thousands are expected to participate in a march on March 7 which is the 50th anniversary of the event, known as “Bloody Sunday.”
