K. Camp sat down with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy of The Breakfast Club to promote his debut album Only Way Is Up, which he reveals he has a star-studded lineup for, including Fetty Wap, T.I., and French Montana. Listen to the “Comfortable” rapper, and get ready for his debut album, which drops on Sept. 4th.
By this time, Azealia Banks has made a name for herself by giving her unapologetic opinion on various topics. So, now that she’s called out some of the biggest stars in the music industry for making “basic music,” no once should be surprised.
The Harlem rapper took to Twitter–as she normally does–to take shoots at Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, and Taylor Swift.
It’s so funny to wake up and see nicki and Miley or nicki and taylor fighting when you ALL make basic ass music. it’s a ki !!!
She would follow up that tweet with a couple others, which you can check out on her timeline. It seems as if no one is safe from Banks’ thumb assault, but the question remains. Is Banks just giving her unfiltered opinion, or is she searching for attention?
Rick Ross drops his second single in as many days with his new song, “Money Dance,” off his forthcoming project–mixtape, album?–Black Dollar, which is scheduled to drop on September 3. This song follows “Foreclosure,” which was relased on Monday when Ross declared this week #RozayWeek.
Next year, the MTV Video Music Awards could be the most anticipated event in it’s history. Why? Sources are claiming that Kanye West is “on the tape” as a potential host of next year’s ceremonies. Sources say that MTV was thrilled with Kanye’s 12-minute diatribe, despite the fact that he trashed the network and award shows in general. Now, as crazy as that sounds, it would certainly be better than the craziness that Miley Cyrus created.
It would be interesting to see if the two sides, who have clearly had issues in the past, would be able to come together and make possible what will surely be one of the greatest nights in music television history.
Jeezy announced that he will be dropping a new project in November–November 13, to be exact–and to celebrate the announcement, he dropped his new single, “God.”
The single features production from TM88 and Southside, and this is the first project from Jeezy since the Gangsta Party mixtape he surprise-dropped on Memorial weekend earlier this year. Snowman has yet to announce the title of the new album, but he does explain the videos he has been uploading to his Instagram page in an open letter.
Chief Keef is gearing up for a brand new mixtape release entitled ‘Almighty DP 2‘, which is slated to release to the public on September 11th. Today we are treated to the first official known leak to the forthcoming project. Sosa and frequent collaborator DP Beats return with a new trap hit entitled ‘TD‘. Check it below and make sure to stay in check to The Source for Sosa’s new offering coming September 11th (supposedly).
The Weeknd’s second studio album Beauty Behind the Madness is finally here! The 14 track album includes features from Ed Sheeran and La Del Rey, and production from Kanye West.
The singles “Often”, “The Hills”, and “Can’t Feel My Face” are on the album, as well as “Earned It” from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. This album has undoubtedly surpassed Kiss Land and Trilogy.
You can stream the album for $Free.99 below and it’s available for purchase on iTunes.
It’s nice to see Chris Brown having peace to focus on his career.
Chris is currently on his One Hell of a Nite tour with Fetty Wap, French Montana, Teyana Taylor, and Kid Ink. Which means he’s been a real busy guy.
He announced on Twitter that the title of his forthcoming album will be Royalty, just like his daughter. Also, yesterday he uploaded a 15 second clip on Instagram of the visuals for his single “Liquor” which was self directed and is expected to be on Royalty.
While fans wait for his album to drop, Chris Brown blessed them with another single, “Gangsta Ways” featuring French Montana. French Montana and Chris have collaborated in the past in the following songs: “Poppin” and “Moses” featuring Migos.
“Gangsta Ways” is over a smooth beat, accompanied by Chris Brown’s beautiful vocals singing about street love, plus French Montana’s auto-tuned rhymes.
It’s an all-Detroit-everything affair on Magnif’s hypnotic new J Dilla-produced single, “The Last,” the B-side to last year’s The Shining Pt. 2. The link to the Motor City doesn’t end there, though; it features ill original artwork from Detroit artist Michelle Tanguay while Young RJ (of Slum Village) recorded and mixed the two songs.
From the dreamy vocal sample to the downright neck-breaking percussion, the beat on “The Last” is classic Dilla. And it’s no surprise that Magnif’s confident, smooth rhymes are such a natural complement, because their connection goes all the way back to 2003. That’s when Magnif, as one-half of underground duo Lawless Element, worked with Dilla on several notable cuts. Their history in addition to the pure dopeness of “The Last” is an emotional reminder of what these two could have done together had Dilla not passed away in 2006.
The main and clean edit versions of each track can be purchased on iTunes, and will be available on 7-inch vinyl, coupled with the instrumental passes, on September 18th. Vinyl pre-order are now available, courtesy of Fat Beats.
