The former UNLV standout was the first player selected in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. After continuous lackluster play, Bennett was traded to the Timberwolves along with the following year’s No.1 pick and eventual NBA Rookie of the Year, Andrew Wiggins.
Once the buyout is finalized, the Wolves will place Bennett on waivers, and should he clear, Minnesota will be on the hook for whatever guaranteed amount both sides agree to, which will almost surely reduce the Wolves obligation from the $5.8 million he’s owed for 2015-16.

Amber Rose is attacking the word “slut” with everything she has.
Rose teamed up with the comedy website Funny or Die in a video called “Walk of No Shame.” The video shows Amber walking out of a house in a “last night outfit” as she starts down her “walk of shame,” also known as the awkward trip from the home of the previous night’s sex partner to one’s own residence just as the sun pierces through the dawn.
If you’ve ever gone away to college, or have your own place, this could also be considered a normal Sunday morning. In the video, Amber takes the stroll, but attempts to show that having a one-night-stand isn’t something to be ashamed of, and doesn’t make a woman a slut. Check the video out, and figure out which side you stand on.
The star of the hit TV show, The League, has officially pulled a Brian Williams. According to TMZ, the 37-year-old actor was forced to admit he made the whole story up after the New York Timesput the heat on him. Rannazzisi now says, “I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry.”
Rannazzisi publicist, Matt Labov, released a statement on the actors behalf to The Huffington Post today
“As a young man, I made a mistake that I deeply regret and for which apologies may still not be enough. After I moved with my wife to Los Angeles from New York City in 2001 shortly after 9/11, I told people that I was in one of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11. It wasn’t true. I was in Manhattan but working in a building in Midtown and I was not at the Trade Center on that day. I don’t know why I said this. This was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry. For many years, more than anything, I have wished that, with silence, I could somehow erase a story told by an immature young man. It only made me more ashamed. How could I tell my children to be honest when I hadn’t come clean about this? It is to the victims of 9/11 and to the people that love them — and the people that love me — that I ask for forgiveness.”
Rannazisi’s original story was that he was working at Merrill Lynch on the 54th floor of the South tower when the first plane hit the north tower. Rannazisi went on to say that he escaped before the second plane was able to hit the South tower.
The 37-year-old was not only working in Midtown — far from the towers — at the time of the attack, but he was also working for another company. Merrill Lynch, which did not have offices in the trade center, has no record of his employment.
A ninth-grade student in Irving, Texas, was arrested and sent to juvenile detention Monday after bringing a homemade clock to school, according to The Dallas Morning News.
Ahmed Mohamed, a student at MacArthur High School, created a clock using a circuit board, power supply and digital clock display together inside a pencil case. He brought the clock to school to impress some of his teachers, but once he showed the clock off, a teacher immediately told Mohamed to put it away.
The 14-year-old was later pulled from his class and sent to the principal’s office, where he was interrogated by police officers. He says he was threatened with expulsion, asked if he tried “to make a bomb,” and led out of the school in handcuffs by police officers.
I expect they will have more to say tomorrow, but Ahmed’s sister asked me to share this photo. A NASA shirt! pic.twitter.com/nR4gt992gB
Mohamed has been suspended for three days. The incident has prompted some to claim–correctly–that his arrest and subsequent transfer to juvenile detention, where he was fingerprinted and then released to his parents, is blatant Islamophobia.
