Chicago Sky Forward Elena Delle-Donne Named WNBA MVP

Chi-town hoop fans can add Elena amongst the basketball’s most valuable hoopers to put on a Chicago sports uniform, watch out Jordan & D. Rose.

History was made early this morning in Chicago, Illinois. Today, the WNBA officially announced that Chicago Sky forward Elena Delle-Donne will be name 2015 WNBA MVP. The 6’5 sensation from out of Wilmington, Delaware was the league’s top vote getter for the 2015 WNBA All Star game. Along with this accomplishment, Delle-Donne finished the season as the league’s top scorer, averaging a impressive 23.4 points per game while shooting 95% from the free throw line. Elena has been playing a major role in the Sky’s regular season success as her Chicago Sky squad finished with a record of 21-13, which is the 2nd most wins in franchise history.

With this accomplishment, Elena becomes the 6th WNBA player ever to win Rookie Of The Year and WNBA Regular Season MVP.She join a elite club consist of WNBA players such as LA Sparks Candice Parker, and Phoenix Mercury’s Diana Taurasi. Delle-Donne’s road to success wasn’t a easy one as the former #1 recruit in the nation battled with Lyme disease and was at one point a volleyball player at the University Of Delaware after transferring out of UCONN.
